As the craziness of life keeps us running and striving and worrying, downright fearful, and more, it might be time to consider slowing down and looking around. Our natural world has a way of forcing it on us via seasons. Is it time you paid closer attention to the lessons? For me it was a waterfall in Glacier National Park that made me reflect on nature’ s reminders.
Welcome to Running Eagle Falls in the Two Medicine area of Glacier National Park. Visiting in June 2016 the falls was in its glory. Running fast and strong, pushing water down Two Medicine Creek on its journey to Lower Two Medicine Lake.
The power and energy of the falls reminds me of the energy I feel after what seems like a l-o-n-g winter. Pushing life down the creek toward new adventures and warmer weather! Summer is right around the corner when all of nature is in full bloom and people’s lives are full of community activities, vacationing near and far with family, and lots of fun with family and friends.
This falls is also called Trick Falls and looks very different in Sept 2024. On the above picture, notice the water pouring out the right side near the bottom of the falls? As spring fades, summer rules then begins to wane, and water pouring over the top of the falls stops. The vibrant, powerful falls begins to rest. Autumn is on us and nature reminds us: slow down.
Our falls now gently comes down though the cave, is less than half the size, the pond is peaceful, the creek much smaller. A time to sit–a time of reflection, slowing down, enjoying the peace.
May you have spaces to relax in the wonder of seasonal reminders my friend. May God be with you on such a quest. Until next time . . .
Seasonal Reminder–The Cycle of Life
The descriptive verbiage and the clarity of the individual photos make a person want to frame each piece of God’s handiwork. The only thing lacking is the sound of the rushing falls. Way to go talented and precise photographer!
Something positive and beautiful. Thank you. Hurricane Helene caused such devastation with winds, storm surge and biblical rains. Your blog is so uplifting.
