SNAP*Shot: Delicate Arch
Delicate Arch is the most famous arch in Arches National Park. It is a symbol of Utah, appearing on their license plates and many brochures, and is also one of the most famous geologic features in the world. The light opening beneath Delicate Arch is 46 feet high and 32 feet wide, making it the largest free-standing arch in the park.
There are three possible hikes to see the arch. Let’s decide which trail we will take.
Landscape Arch–Largest Arch in North America
Let’s take a walk to the largest arch not only in Arches National Park, but North American. It has a light opening of 306 feet, 4th largest in the world. Found in the Devils Garden area of the park, it is a 1.9 mile round trip hike that promises to be stunning. It’s a very windy day so hold onto your hat, grab your water, and let’s go!
SNAP*Shot: Balanced Rock–Teetering Giant
Balanced Rock is a featured stop when driving in Arches National Park, and one of the few formations easily seen from the main park road. We are still quite a distance away, but come on along. You’ll be amazed as we get closer!
