The Stunning Sandhill Crane Migration!

Hello! It has been a while, so time to catch up. Right now I’m sitting in a VRBO in Montana seriously considering moving back to the Treasure State. Not to mention ongoing worry about destruction of our National Parks and Monuments and privatization of virtually every part of government that is still standing. However, as we all know, worry does nothing but make you sick, so send letters, make phone calls, vote, we can only do what we can do–keep on keeping on my friend!

Enough of all that. We can all agree to disagree. That’s truly the American Way!

What a wonderful trip to Monte Vista again this year to see the Sandhill Cranes as they migrate north. The experience was a bit different than the last three years. Thousands upon thousands, but none very close. Saw ducks already in their most gorgeous mating colors, and a big surprise–at the very end, of course 😉 .

The Biltmore Estate’s Mansion

This is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with history. No, really. Learning of the Gilded Age, both pros and cons, then digging into the personal histories of the people who built such estates. The Biltmore, in Asheville, North Carolina, was built by George Washington Vanderbilt II. We are here for the annual Candlelight Christmas Evening audio tour, arriving at the Entrance about 4:30pm. You are going to love this!

This will take your breath away! Let’s go . . .

SNAP*Shot: Christmas Visit to Myrtle Beach, SC

Here’s a secret. The best time to travel is the first 16 days in December. Most people are home starting the crazed Christmas shopping and planning season. So I’m flying out to see my brother and sister-in-law who live near Myrtle Beach. Come on along!

How did I get such a picture? Let’s go, I’ll tell you!

Ride~About: Autumn Color Along Tarryall Road

About an hour from home and 3,000 feet higher, is Tarryall Road which takes us to Tarryall Reservoir. I’ve wanted to travel this quiet back road for some time, but what better time than when autumn color is at peak! This is a new trip for us both. Let’s go.

It gets more and more beautiful . . .
